As part of your M.B.A. studies at Seton Hall University, you have the option to expand your accounting skills and knowledge through this concentration. The M.B.A. Accounting specialization consists of four three-credit courses that provide you with a more in-depth education in this crucial area of business, complementing the breadth of expertise you gain in the M.B.A. core curriculum.

The Accounting concentration is ideal for students who wish to move into corporate accounting and/or finance roles. Corporate financial planning and analysis requires knowledge in accounting functionalities like record keeping, creating and reading financial reports, and an awareness of tax issues. The four courses in the Accounting concentration provide you with the background and foundational expertise to handle these responsibilities with confidence.

Combined with the classes in the general M.B.A. degree, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of business operations, professional skills and accounting functions that will enhance your abilities as a critical thinker, effective communicator and team player.

The Accounting Specialization vs. an M.S. in Accounting

Whether you choose the M.B.A. with an Accounting concentration or one of Seton Hall’s online master’s in accounting degrees depends on several factors, including your background and career goals. In general, those who wish to earn the CPA credential may want to consider the M.S. in Accounting. Career Outcomes

Graduates of the online M.B.A. Accounting concentration go on to work in corporate finance roles or for accounting firms.
