Finance and Technology
No financial transaction completed today, from simple checking accounts to complicated mergers and acquisitions, can be accomplished without technology. And the intersection of finance and business analytics with data and machine learning is at the cutting edge of the profession in the 21st century.
Seton Hall’s new Finance and Technology (FinTech) major will enable you to bridge the gap between the finance and technology staffs, uniquely preparing you for the most well-paid and sought-after positions in the financial industry. You will study financial strategy and investment analysis alongside courses in programming and information modeling, and you will do this at one of only two universities in the United States currently offering an undergraduate degree designated concentration in FinTech.
Seton Hall University has been a member of the CFA Institute’s University Recognition Program since 2014, among the earliest universities so recognized. Its undergraduate programs in Finance, Mathematical Finance, and Finance and Technology incorporate at least 70 percent of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) and place strong emphasis on the CFA Institute’s Ethical and Professional Standards. These state-of-the art programs provide students with the foundation for earning the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst® designation, the most highly recognized and globally respected credential in the investment management profession. In being a CFA University Recognition Program, Seton Hall has the privilege of granting over a dozen CFA scholarships annually to support qualified students in their pursuit of the CFA designation.
