The following Program Student Learning Objectives were approved by the Computing and
Decision Sciences Department, Stillman School of Business, May 2022.

To be able to demonstrate deep business knowledge and skills by being able to: |
- describe the common business processes and some measures of effectiveness of each
process.
- apply critical thinking to business data analysis.
- formulate appropriate questions in the context of a business environment.
- effectively communicate business problems, analytics approaches and analytics-based
solutions orally and in writing
- work effectively in teams.

To be able to demonstrate technical knowledge and skills by being able to: |
- write programs in languages commonly used for business analytics.
- apply relational database concepts.
- proficiently use at least two analytics environments (e.g., R and Python)
- use current technologies for storing and processing large datasets including cloud
computing resources.

To be able to demonstrate analytics knowledge and skills by being able to: |
- prepare data for analytics through wrangling techniques like cleaning, imputing, summarizing,
and reshaping.
- perform exploratory data analysis including generating reports and charts and interpreting
them in the context of business.
- build predictive models and relate them to the business context.
- evaluate and deploy predictive models.
- produce actionable recommendations.
- formulate and build prescriptive models and interpret their results.
- connect prescriptive models to the underlying business context.
