Ambassador, Tanzania Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Ambassador Liberata Mulamula is a career diplomat with over 35 years of experience, spanning over various capacities at the Tanzania Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its diplomatic missions in New York and Canada. She was recently the Permanent Secretary of the Tanzanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation. Before that, she served as the Tanzanian Ambassador to the United States and Mexico. As an Ambassador, Liberata Mulamula worked extensively in Washington, D.C., to strengthen relations with Tanzania and the United States. She brings a wealth of international experience and perspectives to the School's Board. Prior to her appointment of Ambassador, she was the Special Assistant to President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete of Tanzania on diplomatic matters. She also served as the Executive Secretary of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region of Africa for Peace, Stability and Development with headquarters in Bujumbura, Burundi, and covering 11 countries from 2006-2011. Ambassador Mulamula graduated with a M.A. in Government and Politics from St. John's University, New York. She received her B.A. degree in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.
