The School of Diplomacy and International Relations Introduces New Bachelor of Science in Law and Diplomacy

The School of Diplomacy announces a new joint degree, the Bachelor of Science in Law and Diplomacy. This unique degree is designed for students interested in both international relations and legal frameworks. Throughout the process of completing this degree, students will complete a foreign language proficiency requirement, a required internship and develop a senior research capstone, enabling them to think about the various aspects of both the legal and political worlds.
This innovative program is a 120-credit interdisciplinary undergraduate degree that is centered around five core requirements, training students to bridge theory and practice:
• Conventional Diplomacy Core (English, core courses, statistics, economics, religion): 28 credits
• Traditional Diplomacy foreign language requirement (four years): 24 credits
• Diplomacy major: 30 credits
• Law courses: 15 credits of foundational courses and 15 credits of applied law classes based on tracks offered by Seton Hall Law School.
• Law perspectives courses: six credits of menu classes from Diplomacy, the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business, and Seton Hall Law.
Law and Diplomacy majors can pursue internships in law offices, state, local and federal government agencies, political campaigns, international and non-profit organizations, as well as a variety of other institutions to gain practical experience in the field.
