Proposal Preparation
The Grants and Research Office (GRO) is available to lead and support faculty and staff in developing and submitting proposals. GRO offers workshops, forms, and proposal guides. GRO is available to assist in completing each step of preparing a proposal and should be contacted as soon as you know you are planning to prepare one.
The proposal development process requires access to various types of information in order to prepare the required proposal documentation: Please refer to the PI Handbook and Institutional Profile.
Proposal Submission Portal: Cayuse is the official submission portal utilized by Seton Hall University for proposal preparation, proposal approval, sign-off of the AOR (GRO) and submission to the sponsor.
The high-level typical proposal process:
- Faculty/Staff member identifies funding opportunity
- Faculty/Staff downloads proposal requirements/application/RFP/RFA for the opportunity from the funding agency
- Faculty/Staff in conjunction with GRO review and interpret the sponsor's proposal guidelines – understanding the RFP
- Faculty/Staff, in conjunction with the GRO, reviews and completes the proposal, using all required forms and formats, providing all required documentation
- If you cannot provide a draft for review, we request the proposals to be submitted 5 business days prior to the agency deadline
For more details, please refer to the Principal Investigator's Handbook.
