Michael Reuter, Director Emeritus of the Buccino Leadership Institute, has just been named the institute's Interim Executive Director for Fall 2022.
Michael Reuter, Director Emeritus of the Buccino Leadership Institute, has come out of retirement to become the Interim Executive Director for the Fall 2022 semester.
Reuter served as the Director of the Gerald R. Buccino Institute from 2007 until his retirement in 2020. Reuter has an abundance of professional experience and scholarship on developing leadership. He has published several papers on leadership including “A Passion for Excellence” and “Project Leadership Management in the Next Millennium – The New Requirements for High Performance,” writes a weekly newsletter called Three Minute Leadership and has over 23 years of experience as an executive coach and mentor.
Under his direction, the Institute was named the recipient of HR.com’s LEAD Award five times. The Lead Award recognizes one leadership development program in the nation from education, government or corporate sectors for its efforts to create better leaders. Receiving this award five times helped distinguish the Buccino Leadership Institute as a top center for undergraduate leadership development.
Throughout his 13 years as the Director of the Institute, Reuter was known for bringing passion and enthusiasm to the classroom. With a smile on his face, Reuter compassionately challenged his students and colleagues to be their best selves. A humble leader, Reuter always had a story or anecdote to share about leadership with his students. The Institute is honored to welcome him back for this semester as its Interim Executive Director.
