Mission
To be an interdisciplinary beacon and thought leader for the College and University, going “outside the lines,” to focus on the connection of sports, media and society, and develop future leaders and scholars in a rapidly evolving industry.
Vision
The Center intends to:
- Promote scholarly development of Sports Media through various disciplines in the College of Human Development, Culture, and Media
- Facilitate the consumption and production of dynamic digital media content to enhance student’s expertise
- Promote creativity in the exploration of traditional and non-traditional media
- Hone awareness of the ethical dimensions of media communication and creativity
- Enhance understanding of the theories that underscore the creative arts and the practical applications that will empower personal, civic and professional endeavors
Values
Values pertinent to the Center are those of:
- Pedagogical and scholarly excellence
