Stillman Again Named Top 50 Business School by Poets&Quants
Friday, March 3, 2023
The Stillman School of Business has once again been named among the Top 50 "Best Undergraduate Business Schools" by Poets&Quants and placed best in New Jersey for Alumni Experience.
Poets&Quants included and ranked 93 schools this year, saying that each school on their list constitutes “the leading edge of business education, delivering a learning experience that transforms students’ sense of who they are and what they can do in the world. In fact, the ranked schools in this report reflect the top 12% of the more than 840 business schools accredited by AACSB International, the main accrediting body for business education.”
Within that top 12 percent of business schools, Seton Hall’s Stillman School of Business placed 50th overall. Among Catholic universities Seton Hall placed in the Top 10 (#8).
For “Academic Experience,” the Stillman School ranked at 44.
"We are extremely proud to have again been recognized by Poets&Quants as one of the best business schools in the nation," said Joyce Strawser, dean of the Stillman School of Business. “With more than 800 accredited business schools, to be considered among the Top 50 on this list of elite B-schools is both an honor and an affirmation of our commitment to delivering a world-class business education to our students.”
A leading source for business education news, Poets&Quants based the rankings on data related to three equally weighted areas: Admissions Standards, Academic Experience and Employment Outcomes – areas they consider to be "critical factors of the quality of the educational experience."
There were, however, some changes in the methodology this year with the “main difference,” according to Poets&Quants, being that they “included two years' worth of alumni data (this year and last year), and awarded schools their alumni data based on a sliding scale reflecting their alumni response rates.” With the aggregation, the ranking was compiled with responses from nearly 10,000 alumni as well as school-reported data.
Stillman received high marks from alumni who were surveyed, placing the School as best in New Jersey in the Alumni Experience category. Ratings reflected high satisfaction with job placement after graduation as well as opportunities for an international/signature experience as a student.
“At Seton Hall, apparently, we are harvesting both treasure and accolades,” said Katia Passerini, Seton Hall University provost and executive vice president. “And this accolade is an impressive one. Poets&Quants has quickly established itself as a premiere metric for gauging excellence and outcomes in business schools across the nation. Stillman’s inclusion in the list of 93 is itself excellent; its recognition, again, in the Top 50 is extraordinary.” She continued, “In rankings that measure objective outcomes, especially career outcomes, Seton Hall excels.”
