The Intersection of Faith and Healthcare in Mexico

colorful pathway in MexicoSeton Hall University’s Program of Catholic Studies and The College of Nursing invites you to experience an immersive study abroad program focused on the intersection of faith and healthcare in Mexico. Led by Professor Maryellen Roberts, this three-credit program will provide a unique exploration of Catholic Social Thought (CST) alongside healthcare practices in Mexico. The trip will take place from February 27 to March 8, 2025.

Throughout this study tour, you will gain first-hand exposure to Mexico’s healthcare system and the role of faith in public health initiatives. The program offers a comprehensive itinerary that includes hospital visits, lectures on Mexico’s public health system and opportunities to connect with local students and communities. Additionally, you will explore the cultural richness of Puebla and Mexico City, visiting important landmarks and institutions, such as the Hospital de la Mujer, Teotihuacan and the Basilica de Guadalupe.

The course covers CAST 3891, CORE 3911, and NUTH 3891 credits. The total cost of the trip is $3,100, which includes all air and land transportation, hotel accommodations (double occupancy), breakfast and dinner and all site admission fees. Space is limited, and a $500 deposit is due by November 15, 2024.
