Ready for a Career in PR
Gabrielle Apuzzo has her eye on the Big Apple and a career in Public Relations. The Stirling, NJ, native majored in PR and journalism and worked with the PR and Marketing office on campus. She was president of PRSSA, co-founder of Seton Hall's chapter of Spoon University, and was involved in the CHAMP's mentoring program. The valedictorian for College of Communication and the Arts, Gabby says she's "grateful to the advisors and professors who helped me grow as a person and a leader."
Ciao!
Nicholas Cozzarelli treasures his Italian roots. He visited Italy eight times in the last four years, including a trip to Rome with the Catholic Studies program last spring. A bio major, Nick minored in Catholic studies and Italian studies and will be attending Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine at Seton Hall. "Being immersed in the Catholic atmosphere of Seton Hall gave me the comfort and strength to reach my dream. Nick leaves us with these words in his beloved Italian: "Ad majorem Dei gloriam. La vita è bella!"
A Start Up Sensation
As a freshman, Alissa Lopez dreamed of starting a web site matching trained baby sitters with the parents who need them. She raised money to launch her business – SincereSitter – with funds from student start up competitions including Pirate's Pitch and NJIT's New Business Model Competition. She leaves the Hall with an MBA and the tools and confidence it takes to be a successful entrepreneur.
Mastering Sports Psychology
Jayda Yizar is a social and behavioral sciences major with minors in sociology and Africana studies. She was a manager for the women's basketball team and was also involved with the Black Student Union, the National Council of Negro Women, Delta Sigma Theta. "The last four years have been the best of my life," says Jayda, who returns to campus in the fall to pursue a master's degree in sports psychology.
Leading in Finance
Caroline Weeks is taking her finance and IT skills to Quest Diagnostics in Massachusetts where she'll be joining the Finance Leadership Development Team. Poets and Quants named Caroline among the Best and Brightest MBAs for 2019. Of her college years, the Tampa, Florida, native says, "I love Seton Hall. I think everyone here has a lot of pride in our school"
Making News
Brandon Cintron is passionate about journalism. He credits Seton Hall with helping him grow personally and professionally. Brandon interned as a copywriter and web site developer with Spencer Gift and is ready to pivot into a media career.
From Pirate to Marketing Pro
Brendan Kane's Pirate pride runs deep. He repped the Hall as our beloved mascot, worked in Athletics marketing, and was named Stillman's Marketing Research Student of the Year. Brendan's next act will be with the alumni-owned apparel company, The Roosevelts (RSVLTS). Let's go, Brendan!
M.B.A. Bound
Maryland native Chase Mulligan is a Stillman triple threat, majoring in finance, IT, and entrepreneurship. He was also the president of the Entrepreneurship Club's and helped organize Pirate's Pitch. Chase plans to start his own business, but before he does, he'll be heading back to Seton Hall to work on his M.B.A.
Backpacking Through Europe
Abigail Hofmann of Fort Collins, CO, is joining Kaiser Permanente, where she interned as a sophomore. The finance and economics double major was a member of the Ski Club at Seton Hall and volunteered with Campus Ministry. She studied abroad twice, living in France and China. Those experiences inspired Abby to backpack through Europe with her brother this summer. She'll visit 10 countries before returning to the States to start her job. Happy trails, Abby!
Komal Cares
Komal Modh plans to be a healthcare professional. She hopes to earn a graduate degree with the Clinical Nurse Leader program here at Seton Hall. Komal says she's sticking with Seton Hall because, "The teachers are committed to students' professional development."
Focused on Finance
Jacob Kalb is trading campus life for a job in financial research with Portfolio Evaluations in Warren, New Jersey. A resident North Caldwell, Jacob was a finance major and a member of Delta Upsilon.
The Sky's the Limit!
Stacey Huggins traded her home in sunny Trinidad for college in South Orange. A psychology major, she was involved in the Psychology Club, the Dean's Undergrad Student Cabinet, and volunteered with the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). About her her plans after Seton Hall, Stacey says: "The sky really is the limit! No matter what circumstances you are given, keep pushing and never give up."
STEM Star
Zil Modi is graduating magna cum laude and returning to Seton Hall in the fall to study microbiology. A native of India who now calls Sayreville, NJ, home, Zil was president of the Red Cross Club and was the recipient of the Aspiring Kindness Scholarship for students planning careers as first responders. Zil wants to work in emergency medicine and plans to show her future patients that doctors really care. On beginning her next chapter, she says: “I am excited and ready. I feel like I have accomplished something very big. I hope I get the opportunity to accomplish more at Seton Hall.”
A Real Career in Real Estate
Economics major Kevin Oliva, who commuted to Seton Hall from his home in nearby Springfield, is well known on campus. You may have seen him managing the desk at the U Center. After graduation Kevin is pursuing a career in real estate.
Great Mind in Engineering
Texan Layla Ogletree never cared much for New Jersey winters, but she loved being a physics major at Seton Hall. An active member of Delta Sigma Theta and an MLK scholar, Layla also belonged to the National Council of Negro Women, the Society of Physics Students, the Black Student Union, and was the president of Seton Hall Gospel Choir. Whew! Layla won the President's Service Award twice, as well as the Servant Leadership Award. She's off to graduate school -- "somewhere warmer" -- to study mechanical engineering.
On the Move to Deloitte
Christine Karolweski had a busy four years at Seton Hall. She was in the Honors Program and the Buccino Leadership Development Program and majored in accounting, IT and finance. Christine studied abroad in Spain and Ireland, volunteered with DOVE and interned with Merrill Lynch. Not skipping a beat, she'll be working as an auditor with Deloitte after graduation.
Global Citizen
Alonso Arbulu headed north from his hometown of Lima, Peru, to study economics and finance at the Hall. Consulting Club co-founder and president of ALPFA, Alonso has traveled to 15 countries, speaks three languages and held four internships. He'll be starting his career in New York with Deloitte, and credits his Pirate community for getting him where he is today.
Good Friends and a Promising Career
Political science major Carolina Romero can't wait to start her career as a paralegal professional. The Hackensack, NJ, native says: "My Seton Hall experience has been so rewarding. It introduced me to people who are now lifetime friends".
Foreign Policy Future
Matthew Minor found his calling while interning with Senate Bob Corker, who represented his home state of Tennessee. A diplomacy major and PR and French minor, Matt is planning a career in public service and public policy after he graduates in December. An SAA president, Servant Leader Scholar and student worker with Seton Hall's PR and Marketing department, he loves that Seton Hall students are committed to servant leadership. "It's inspiring," he says.
Her Goal is Soccer
Michelle Neto, from nearby Union, NJ, double majored in finance and sport management. After graduation she will begin working towards her MBA in Marketing at Seton Hall. Michelle, who speaks three languages, has worked for the Red Bull Soccer Team since 2016, and aspires to work in marketing for a Major League Soccer team.
Ready to Start Her Own Business
Ashley Wilson earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees from Seton Hall. A Strategic Communications student and NYC event planner, Ashley plans to start a women's wellness center. "My undergraduate experience inspired me to come back for my master's degree," Ashley says. "I will be forever grateful for my experiences and all that I've learned here."
