Prof. James Corino, Ed.D. named Belleville Man of the Year

The Nutley-Belleville Columbus Day & Italian Heritage Month Parade Committee honored James A. Corino, Ed. D. on September 21st by presenting him with the Belleville Man of the Year award at the annual Honoree Dinner at Nanina’s in the Park in Belleville. For forty years, the Heritage Committee has been committed to preserving and celebrating Italian ancestry and the recognition of Columbus Day.
"What a wonderful honor for Jim," said College of Education and Human Services Dean Joseph Martinelli. "His Seton Hall family salutes him and are proud to have him on our team."
Corino’s professional life encompasses 40 years as a public-school educator and 15 years as the Director of Seton Hall’s Executive Education Leadership programs. As a distinguished education leader, his acumen was manifested in a host of responsibilities from high school teacher, coach and director of athletics to school principal, assistant superintendent and superintendent. He has dedicated his career to serving the best interest of students, athletes and aspiring leaders. As an instructor in the College of Education and Human Services, he is committed to the promotion, nurturing and advancement of aspiring school leaders by preparing them with the intellectual and social/emotional leadership skills necessary to be successful, positive contributors to a diverse, global and rapidly changing society.
"Jim has the will of a bull and the strength of a lion," says Assistant Program Director, Albert Galloway, Ph.D. "He lives by the words he likes to use - ethical, reflective, and humanistic. I have learned to trust his decision making and to trust him."
