Seton Hall University Joins One To World: Expanding Global Opportunities

A group of diverse students.Seton Hall University is proud to announce its recent membership with One To World, a premier organization dedicated to fostering intercultural understanding and providing enrichment programs for international students. With more than 45 years of experience in international education, One To World has built a robust network of academic institutions and global partners to support international students and professionals in the field. This partnership marks a significant step in Seton Hall’s commitment to expanding its global footprint and enhancing opportunities for its international students, faculty and staff.

Strengthening Global Connections

Through One To World’s comprehensive programs, Seton Hall aims to enrich the experiences of its international student body by offering a range of impactful programs that foster community, build resilience and provide professional development opportunities. One To World is also the official coordinator of enrichment programs for Fulbright grantees in the United States, giving Seton Hall access to a well-established platform to connect students with global leaders and fellow international scholars.

Johanna Pan-Carr, director of International Student Services at Seton Hall University, sees this collaboration as a critical component of the university’s mission to support and empower its international students. “We are thrilled to be joining One To World. Their network and programming provide excellent opportunities for our students to immerse themselves in meaningful cross-cultural experiences. Additionally, Seton Hall colleagues who work closely with international students will benefit from the regulatory round table discussions and networking opportunities this partnership affords,” said Pan-Carr.

Impactful Programming for International Students

One To World’s programs are designed to foster intercultural understanding through face-to-face engagement and connectedness. These initiatives provide international students with enriching experiences beyond the classroom, such as professional development workshops, networking events and cultural exchange programs. For Seton Hall’s international students, this will not only enhance their academic journey but also support their personal and professional growth as they navigate their studies in the United States.

The president of the International Student Association at Seton Hall, Rayne Ryan, expressed her excitement about the new opportunities. “At the International Student Association, our mission is to celebrate the diverse cultures represented on our campus. This partnership with One To World aligns perfectly with our goal of creating an inclusive environment where international students feel supported, while also helping to educate our non-international peers about the richness of global cultures. I’m looking forward to the opportunities this collaboration will bring to foster deeper cultural awareness and engagement with important global issues that shape our world.”

Seton Hall’s faculty and staff can also benefit from the resources offered by One To World, including professional development opportunities and best practice exchanges on topics such as student wellness and resilience—an area of growing importance in higher education.

A Focus on Wellness and Resilience

In a recent One To World meeting hosted by NYU, Seton Hall had the opportunity to participate in an event that featured a keynote address by Dr. Justin Chen from Weill Cornell Medical College. The address focused on the importance of fostering wellness and resilience among international students, especially given the unique challenges they face in adjusting to a new cultural and academic environment.

Strengthening Relationships Across Campus

Deepesh Dhingra, executive director of One To World, highlighted the value of this new partnership: “We are excited to welcome Seton Hall University into the One To World family. With our shared mission to foster intercultural understanding, we look forward to working together to provide international students with impactful experiences and support. Seton Hall’s commitment to enhancing the global experience of their students and staff makes them a perfect partner for our network.”

By joining One To World, Seton Hall will also strengthen relationships among its staff, faculty and administrators working with international students and in international education programs such as study abroad.

As Seton Hall continues to build on its reputation as a globally engaged institution, the partnership with One To World is a significant step toward realizing the university’s vision of providing transformative educational experiences.
