Parent and Family Pirate Adventure
We know that the transition to college is new for everyone, which is why we have designed an orientation program specifically for parents and families. During Parent & Family Pirate Adventure, you will have the opportunity to interact with representatives from University resources, meet other parents and families, and learn what to expect for your student as you plan for their arrival in August.
Please note, while Parent & Family Orientation runs simultaneously with Pirate Adventure, the two programs do not intersect. If you are interested in registering for Parent and Family Orientation, your student will be able to include your registration when they register for Pirate Adventure. While participation in Parent & Family Orientation is not required, attendance at Pirate Adventure is required for your student.
Day 1
After dropping off your student at Pirate Adventure, there will be opportunities to mingle and network with campus representatives before returning home or to your hotel.
This program will begin at 1:30 p.m. after you have moved your student into their residence hall. Please note, on-campus housing accommodations are not available for parents and families. We encourage you to visit our website listing local hotel recommendations within the area.
Day 2
Day two is a formal orientation program where you will engage with campus representatives from various departments such as Public Safety & Security, Center for Academic Success, Health Services, Counseling and Psychological Services, Financial Aid, and more.
Please note, attending Parent & Family Pirate Adventure is not required. If you are interested in registering, your student will be able to include your registration when they register for Pirate Adventure.
Check back in April for the Parent & Family Pirate Adventure schedule.
