Hired in 2003, Dr. David P. Mest, CPA (inactive), is a Senior Faculty Associate in the Department of Accounting and Taxation. Dr. Mest teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in financial accounting, intermediate accounting, financial statement analysis and government and not-for-profit accounting. Dr. Mest’s research interests include the usefulness and presentation of financial accounting information and the forecasting process used by financial analysts. His research, which is both applied and basic in nature, has been published in The Accounting Review, International Journal of Forecasting, Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, Oil, Gas and Energy Quarterly and the Atlantic Law Journal. Dr. Mest serves as Director of Graduate Accounting Programs, advises our undergraduate and graduate accounting majors, and co-advises the School’s Beta Alpha Psi chapter.
