Matthew Corrigan, Ph.D.

Dr. Corrigan is an Associate Professor in the Master of Social Work Program, in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work. He received his Ph.D. and M.S.W. from State University of New York at Albany, School of Social Welfare. He previously taught at Salisbury University in Maryland and Shaw University in North Carolina, and served as the Coordinator of the Substance Abuse track of the MSW programs at both Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY, and Kennesaw State University in Georgia. His areas of research interest include; substance abuse prevention and treatment, mental health, and social justice. He is a Licensed Master of Social Work and a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor, with over fifteen years of practice and supervisory experience in the addiction field. His research has been published in Research on Social Work Practice, Journal of Social Work Education, Journal of Social Work Practice in the Addictions, and the Journal of Child and Adolescent Substance Abuse, and presented at several national professional conferences.
