FOCUS
FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students) is present on Seton Hall University's campus as a resource for students desiring to learn more about their faith and how to apply it to every facet of their lives. Through FOCUS, Bible studies are available on campus for all students, as well as other various activities and opportunities. Mission: To share the story of Christ Jesus, by the sharing of our lives, in the hope of
bringing others to His love.
Vision: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I
have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.” -Matthew
28:19-20
Brief history of FOCUS: The Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) is a dynamic national organization responding to Pope John Paul II's call for a "new evangelization" by serving college students. Benedictine College, in Atchison, KS, was the first campus to sponsor FOCUS in cooperation with its founder, Curtis Martin, beginning in 1997. FOCUS' mission is to "know Christ Jesus, and to fulfill His Great Commission by first living and then communicating the fullness of life within the Family of God, the Church."
The FOCUS Missionaries help students learn about their faith and invite Jesus to be the Lord of their life - in their studies, social life, dating relationships, and major life decisions. This is done through weekly Bible studies, one-on-one discipleship, large group leadership training, and an annual conference. The goal is to raise up leaders who follow Jesus and transform the world through their relationships, vocations, and professions.
And what you have heard from me before many witnesses entrust to faithful men who
will be able to teach others also.
2 Timothy 2:2
I ask you young people…to become prophets of life.
Pope John Paul II
When college students make the heroic decision to give their lives to Jesus Christ,
they gain true Vision for Life: for leadership in college, and for making an impact
after graduation
So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only
the Gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.
1 Thessalonians 2:8
