Scholars Forum in CIT hosts Dr. Stacy Transancos  

Inside the Core this week, on Wednesday, October 13 at 4 p.m., we are very pleased to host our second presentation this academic year of the annual Scholars Forum in the Catholic Intellectual Tradition series. We began last year in September of 2020 and had nine presentations over the 20-21 academic year. This presentation for fall 2021 is by Dr. Stacy Transancos, faculty member in the Catholic Studies Department, on her new book, Particles of Faith: Student Edition, Ave Maria Press, August 2019.

A nationally-recognized author, speaker and educator on the topic of theology and science, Dr. Stacy Trasancos is the Executive Director of the St. Philip Institute of Catechesis and Evangelization founded by Bishop Joseph Strickland. She is also a teaching fellow for Bishop Robert Barron's Word on Fire Institute. Dr. Trasancos is the author of three books on faith and science, has written numerous articles for Catholic journals and magazines and has appeared across the nation on Catholic radio and television.

A highly trained chemist, with a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Pennsylvania State University (1999) and a B.S. from Broadfield Science-Biology, Texas A&M University Commerce, Commerce, TX (1991), Dr. Transancos received an M.A. in Dogmatic Theology from Holy Apostles College and Seminary, Cromwell, CT (2014). Seton Hall is fortunate to have a scholar who is rooted in the connections between faith and science. A very popular teacher for her Core III/CAST classes, she must be conveying her enthusiasm to her students!
