Global Learning Center
The Global Learning Center (GLC) supports the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures (LLC). It is located in 202/203 Fahy Hall and comprises two technology-enhanced learning spaces—including the Screening Room—for classes, lectures, film screenings, club meetings, and other events.
The GLC also facilitates the Language Placement Test for students fulfilling their Core Curriculum requirements.

Resources for Faculty
- Faculty may reserve the main space (Fahy Hall 202) or the Screening Room (Fahy Hall 203B) for group work, class assignments, directed activities, or other events. Please contact the GLC to make a reservation.
- The GLC has hundreds of language-related DVDs, VHS tapes, CDs, audio cassettes, books, and LPs available to the Seton Hall community. Languages include English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Chinese, Japanese and more. Please contact the GLC for more information about available resources.
Foreign Language Resources
- Typing in other languages requires adding some functions to one's computer or keyboard. Check out the GLC's instructions for how to type accents, diacritics, and other characters.
- Support on how to display foreign languages in Canvas and email.
Activities and Events
The GLC hosts foreign film festivals and other movie screenings, participates in campus-wide events, and supports other SHU entities’ cultural and language-related activities. Faculty from across the university are welcome to reserve GLC resources and space by contacting the GLC.
Language Placement Testing
Seton Hall requires students to demonstrate a level of foreign language competence. In order to know what level language courses students should register for, they must take the language placement test. Visit the Language Placement Testing page for more information.
The Global Learning Center (formerly known as the Learning Resource Center, aka the Language Lab) was renovated and updated with the support of the Dean's Office of the College of Arts and Sciences and Teaching, Learning and Technology Center (TLTC).
