Boost Your Wellbeing and Pirate Pride With Seton Hall Athletics and Recreation
Friday, September 6, 2024
As the new academic year begins, Seton Hall offers a variety of ways to stay active, engaged and connected through recreation services and athletics. Whether you are looking to join a club sport, attend thrilling Pirate games, or simply stay fit, Athletics and Recreation has you covered.
Get in the Game with Intramurals and Club Sports
If you are looking for some friendly competition, Seton Hall’s intramural sports are the perfect way to stay active and have fun. Intramural flag football is now open for sign-ups, and you can register your team with 7-12 members for just $20. Teams will be divided into mini-divisions to ensure balanced competition, with Level 1 for the most competitive, Level 3 for co-rec or fun players, and Level 2 in between.
For those interested in volleyball, the intramural volleyball league is also accepting sign-ups, providing another fantastic opportunity to play. Gather your team and register here to be part of the excitement.
If you are interested in competing at a higher level, club sports are a fantastic way to stay engaged, meet fellow students and represent Seton Hall against other colleges. This semester's upcoming tryouts include:
- Club Rugby: September 10 and 12, 7-9:30 p.m. at Ivy Hill Park.
- Club Volleyball: September 19, 8-9:30 p.m. at the Regan Rec Center Fieldhouse.
These teams offer a great balance of competition and camaraderie, giving you the chance to stay active and make new friends.
Spirit Groups and Pirate Sports Network
Want to get even more involved in Pirate Athletics? Seton Hall has five branches of spirit groups: Cheerleading, Sapphires Dance team, Pep Band, Mascot, and Flagman! These groups play a key role in energizing the crowd at games and fostering a lively atmosphere that drives our teams to victory.
If you are interested in sports media, consider joining the Pirate Sports Network (PSN), which broadcasts and covers all Seton Hall sports. PSN members work behind the scenes operating cameras, running replays and creating features. It’s a fantastic way to get hands-on experience in sports media. Sign up by filling out the interest form.
Stay Fit and Informed
The Rec Center is the hub for fitness and wellness on campus. Whether you are looking to hit the gym or take a dip in the pool, the Rec Center has convenient hours for all students:
- Rec Center Hours: Monday-Thursday: 7 a.m. - 10 p.m., Friday: 7 a.m. - 8 p.m., Saturday-Sunday: 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.
