As the Seminary's ESL/SSL Services Coordinator, Chandler organizes and facilitates the Seminary's ESL Program, recruiting volunteers and supervising their tutorial services, as well as providing comprehensive analytical reports on placement and assessment of international seminarians. In addition, she has augmented the program to include tutorials in the Spanish language for those seminarians who wish to gain proficiency in Spanish for pastoral use. Prior to joining the Seminary administration in July 2014, she tutored in the Seminary's ESL Program for several years. Chandler has extensive experience in language instruction, particularly in ESL Adult Education and French. She spent many years as a field trainer with Jewish Vocational Services, specializing in accent reduction and business English at corporations throughout NJ and NYC. She is a certified BEST tester from the Center for Applied Linguistics. Prior to her teaching career, she spent 12 years at American Airlines stationed in Dallas/Ft. Worth and NYC, primarily in airline profitability analysis and reservation and ticketing systems. Chandler earned a B.A. in Educational Psychology from Dowling College, where she served as treasurer of Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology. More recently, she has joined the Family Council board of the Baptist Home Society and is a longtime parishioner at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, South Orange, NJ. Chandler is currently in Master's Studies in English Technical/Professional Writing at SHU.
