Juliana Gijima, M.A.
Director, Fieldwork and Certification
College of Human Development Culture and Media
As Director of the Office of Fieldwork and Certification in the College of Human Development,
Culture, and Media, Juliana supports students completing clinical and internship experiences
in the field and pursuing certifications. Juliana was previously an Assistant Director
in The Career Center at Seton Hall, where she worked with students and alumni from
all Communication and the Arts disciplines, Education programs, and the English and
Creative Writing majors. From that role, Juliana brings experience in promoting experiential
learning opportunities and career readiness through career advising, employer engagement,
cross-campus partnership building, and program development.
Prior to joining Seton Hall, Juliana worked in communications and human resources
in the public sector, designed and taught a community ESL course as a volunteer, taught
introductory linguistics courses at Montclair State University, and worked in scholarly
book publishing at Princeton University Press. Juliana holds an M.A. in Applied Linguistics
and a TESOL Certificate from Montclair State University and a B.A. in English from
The College of New Jersey. She has been actively involved with the Eastern Association
of Colleges and Employers (EACE), serving on the Mentorship Sub-Committee of the Professional
Development Committee.
