John D. Nowik, M.M., earned his master's degree in Organ Performance at Emory University, Atlanta, GA, and his bachelor's degree at Westminster Choir College, Princeton, NJ. 

He has served as Director of Music and University Organist at Seton Hall University since 1996. In addition, he is Music Director, Organist and Adjunct Professor of Liturgy and Music at Immaculate Conception Seminary. He teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses in music and liturgy. In Spring 2014, with the cooperation of the Catholic Studies Department, Immaculate Conception School of Theology, and the Department of Communication and the Arts, an undergraduate Pastoral Music Certificate program was initiated.

From 1983-2001, John served as Organist and Director of Music at the Cathedral of Saint Francis, Diocese of Metuchen. 

John has twice brought his choirs (the Cathedral and Seminary choirs) to Rome to sing at the Solemn High Mass at St. Peter's and to sing in the presence of Pope John Paul II. He has performed in several Master Classes, most notably with Dr. Gerre Hancock, Dr. Harold Vogel and Dame Gillian Weir.
