I joined Seton Hall in 2024. Before coming to SHU, I held postdoctoral fellowships at McMaster University, the National Center for Theoretical Sciences, and the University of Oregon.
My research is in differential geometry and geometric analysis, which means that I use calculus to solve problems about higher-dimensional shapes and spaces. I spend a lot of time thinking about curvature and surface area, and my favorite dimensions are 7 and 8. Most of my work concerns minimal surfaces — shapes that use area efficiently — especially those with unusual geometric features. There are so many things that we still don’t know, which makes mathematical discovery really exciting!
I'm also passionate about effective, high quality teaching. I enjoy crafting finely-tuned lectures that challenge students to think clearly about nuance and intuitively about abstraction. Along the way, we'll come to see familiar things in new and surprising ways.
I was born and raised in Queens, NY, earned my bachelor’s degree from Brown University (2012) and my Ph.D. from Stanford University (2018). Outside of math, I enjoy martial arts, swimming, and music.
