Prof. Pete Reader, MFA is the program director for Seton Hall Theatre. He started his career as an assistant Lighting Designer on Broadway for the Tony award-winning musical Porgy & Bess. He has been working ever since. His professional design experience spans from regional theatre to Opera to Dance. He has worked for such companies as The Goodman Theatre, Houston Grand Opera, Boston Opera, Kansas Lyric Opera, Viva Flamenco, Dance Network and The Delaware Theatre Company. He has published the Technote, “A Choice of Color”, for Rosco Laboratories on color theory for the stage. He has studied playwrighting with the Tony award-winning playwright Heidi Schreck and published his play, Princess Puffery. He has adapted Spoon River Anthology for the stage. In addition, Prof. Reader has directed plays and musicals over the years. He is an Associate member of Stage Directors & Choreographers Society, a professional organization. Prof. Reader combines his professional experience with his teaching to give students an experiential education.
