A native of Puerto Rico, Father Pedro worked in the Professional Real Estate field in New York City and New Jersey for many years, assisting many of the Fortune 500 firms, including international firms, with their relocating, renovating, or rethinking of their living situation.
In 2003, he experienced a conversion moment during a Mass, which filled him with a great desire to further his studies of Catholic teaching. Shortly after, he began to serve God at St Michael's Church in Newark, NJ. After completing his three years of Catholic Studies at the Chancery, he entered Immaculate Conception Seminary at Seton Hall University in 2010. He was ordained to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Newark in 2014. His first assignment was as a Parochial Vicar at St. John The Baptist Church and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, both in Jersey City, NJ. In January 2018, he was appointed by His Eminence, Joseph Cardinal Tobin, as Parish Administrator for both parishes. In June 2019, Father Pedro was appointed Pastor of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Jersey City, a position in which he currently serves. Since Spring 2020, he has taught Spirituality of the Old Testament in Spanish for Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology's Center for Diaconal Formation. He also studied at the Notre Dame University Preaching Academy program. In 2020, he obtained a Notre Dame Preaching Academy certificate upon successful completion of the program.
Father Pedro has been involved in The Archdiocesan Men's Commission for the Archdiocese of Newark since 2010. In 2013, he was named Co-Chair of the same by Archbishop Myers for the Spanish track, and served there until 2018. Father Pedro continues to serve as a volunteer for the Archdiocesan Men's Commission. He directs formation retreats, theology courses, and annual congresses with the Catholic Charismatic Renewal throughout the Archdiocese of Newark. He has served as a Catholic speaker for various annual retreats and Catholic conferences in United States and throughout Latin America. He has filmed several television programs for EWTN in Spanish.
