Susan Leshnoff, Ed.D.

Dr. Leshnoff came to Seton Hall University in 1997 and was a former Chair of the Department of Art, Music and Design. Dr. Leshnoff regularly taught in the studio art program, including courses in watercolor. She also taught in the Graduate Program in Museum Professions and served as a graduate thesis advisor and was the Fine Arts advisor for those students wishing to teach art in elementary, middle and high schools.

Dr. Leshnoff's paintings have used nature as a subject, concentrating on visions of the sky and its spiritual interpretation. Her paintings have been included in a number of group exhibits in the tri-state area, including the Monmouth Museum, Kean University, and The College of St. Elizabeth, in New Jersey; the Da Vinci Art Alliance in Philadelphia; and the Pleiades Gallery in New York City.

Dr. Leshnoff's research concentration in the history of art education, with a particular focus on art education before and during the Holocaust, has been presented at international, national and regional conferences and published as book chapters and journal articles.
