The Ruth Cornfield Scholarship was established for deserving students in the College of Human Development, Culture, and Media. Dr. Cornfield taught in the College for 15 years and many of her students went on to hold significant positions throughout New Jersey. The Educational Media Center prospered under Dr. Cornfield's guidance, and her work eventually laid the cornerstone for the present Media Center, which serves the entire University. When reviewing applications, financial need will be considered along with evidence of scholarship and commitment to the teaching profession.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a declared undergraduate Education major in good academic standing.
- Must be enrolled full-time and have at least one more undergraduate course year to complete.
- Award will be based on completed applications, references, academic record, financial need, service activities and performance in the field (Incomplete applications or applications that do not follow instructions will not be considered).
- The award is for the academic year (Fall and Spring) and the amount is dependent on available funding.
- The Deadline for Incoming First-Year and Transfer Students for the Fall 2023 semester is March 15.

Scholarships are now administered in Blackbaud Award Management (BAM), which can be accessed via PirateNet.
