The Virginia Hughes Blackman (MA '75) Endowed Scholarship was established by Michael Blackman in honor of his mother, Virginia Hughes Blackman, who taught in West Orange after receiving her master's in elementary education from the College in 1975.
The recipient must be an undergraduate Elementary and Special Education major who demonstrates financial need.
The award is limited to cover only tuition and fees.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a declared undergraduate Education major in good academic standing.
- Must be enrolled full-time and have at least one more undergraduate course year to complete.
- Award will be based on completed applications, references, academic record, financial need, service activities and performance in the field (Incomplete applications or applications that do not follow instructions will not be considered).
- The award is for the academic year (Fall and Spring) and the amount is dependent on available funding.
- The Deadline for Incoming First-Year and Transfer Students for the Fall 2023 semester is March 15.
