Flag Procedure, University Center
American Flag
- The flag will be raised each morning and taken down each night during sunset.
- The flag will not be flown during nighttime hours, unless a light is shone directly on it, or during inclement weather. If it begins to precipitate after the flag has been raised, it should be taken down immediately.
- The flag will be stored in the Ticket Office/Student Resource Center while not flying.
- The flag should not touch the ground for any reason.
- If the flag becomes tattered and unsuitable to be flown, contact Public Safety to obtain a new one. At such time, please also contact the Assistant Coordinator of Operations for Bishop Dougherty University Center for disposal.
SHU Flag
- The flag will be raised each morning and taken down each night during sunset.
- The crescents on the flag will be raised with the points of the crescents facing toward the sky.
- The flag will be lowered for extended breaks from normal university operational hours. (i.e. Christmas Break)
- When the flag becomes tattered and unsuitable to be flown, please contact Public Safety to obtain a new one. At such time, please also contact the Coordinator of Operations for Bishop Dougherty University Center for disposal.
