AI-Powered Storytelling for Enhanced Creativity

The Teaching, Learning, and Technology Center (TLTC) hosted AI Magic with Adobe Premiere Pro, a virtual session held on Wednesday, October 8, for faculty, staff and students spotlighting how generative AI tools can assist in design and video workflows.

Guided by Jorge Rivera, digital media specialist and alum of the College of Human Development, Culture, and Media, the workshop showcased a simple cross-application workflow that can scale from class assignments to advanced digital storytelling. Participants learned how a close-up image could be expanded into a wider scene using Photoshop’s Generative Expand and Generative Fill, then brought into Premiere Pro to reframe or enhance video content.

Jorge also discussed the strengths, limitations and ideal use cases of these AI tools, and encouraged attendees to envision new ways to move fluidly between design and editing applications. Whether enhancing footage, reframing shots or envisioning new workflows, the session highlighted how AI tools can complement traditional editing Adobe Premiere Pro and inspire new approaches to storytelling. The session was produced by the TLTC Digital Media team from Seton Hall’s Bishop Dougherty University Center Studio. With multiple cameras, professional lighting and high-quality audio, the production demonstrated how campus-based video services can elevate remote workshops and academic presentations.

"When Jorge approached me about increasing the production value of his virtual workshop using the University Center studio, I thought it was a fantastic idea as well as a tremendous opportunity for us to utilize the university’s state-of-the-art equipment," said Corey Howell, manager of digital media production. "The content of our TLTC workshops is already top-notch and Jorge’s innovative approach to capturing them ensures the presentation’s polished delivery now reflects the quality of the material."

This event is one of many sessions hosted by TLTC to help the Seton Hall community build technology-forward skills. Explore upcoming sessions at shu.edu/ITevents.
