About Charter Day
"Since its founding, Seton Hall has made, and continues to make, moral education a priority of the first rank."
During the Charter Day event there is a reading of the charter and a keynote speaker. We also honor recipients of the Bishop Bernard J. McQuaid Medal for Distinguished Service. This award recognizes the unflagging efforts of members of the University community who strive with excellence to fulfill Seton Hall’s mission every day. Commissioned in 1964 in honor of the first president of Seton Hall, the medal is presented to members of the University faculty, staff and administration who render outstanding service to the institution.
In addition, we recognize recipients of the President’s Award for Student Service
as well as Seton Hall's Servant Leader Scholars.
