Heart of the University, Faculty Retreat Series 2023-2024
Monday, February 19, 2024
The Heart of the University Retreat Series gives faculty and administrators of all faiths the opportunity for input and guided reflection. The series is co-sponsored by the Office of Mission and Ministry, and the Center for Vocation and Servant Leadership.
The fourth retreat, given by Genevieve Zipp, Ed.D., on the theme of "Interiority and the Catholic Intellectual Tradition: A Call to Integrate Faith and Reason in the Pursuit of Truth," will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 9-11 a.m. in the Beck Rooms via Microsoft Teams.
As academicians and administrators, we realize that growing into interiority is an individual lifelong journey. As part of a Catholic forward-thinking higher education community, our Catholic intellectual tradition (CIT) provides for a distinctive identity which invites the interdisciplinary community to integrate faith and reason in the pursuit of truth.
In this retreat we will reflect upon our individual journey into interiority; discuss what CIT means at a personal level and an institutional level; and explore how to engage students, faculty and administrators to live the CIT mission of the University.
Genevieve Pinto Zipp, P.T., Ed.D., FNAP is a professor and acting program director of the Ph.D. in Health Sciences Program in the School of Health and Medical Sciences and the director of school’s Center for IPE. She is a GEM fellow of the Praxis Program.
