The Eleventh Annual Servant Leadership Day will be held on Tuesday, April 18, and is a celebration of Seton Hall University’s commitment to forming students as "servant leaders in a global society." Sponsored by the Center for Vocation and Servant Leadership, and the Office of Mission & Ministry, it is made possible by the generous benefaction of Colleen and Hank D’Alessandro, Regent. Its purpose is to provide inspiration to the Center’s Servant Leader Scholars and to all the University constituencies dedicated to the principles and practice of "servant leadership."
To celebrate this event, all members of the Seton Hall community are invited to a talk given by Michael Reuter on Tuesday, April 18, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., in the Bishop Dougherty University Center Chancellor’s Suite (lower level). His topic is "Servant Leadership’s Magical Step Beyond."
Michael Reuter’s discussion will bring experiential reality to the 'being' and 'doing' in the servant leader’s life’s journey. Discussing the characteristics of great leadership, he speaks of the magical step that "servant leadership" takes beyond them. Servant leadership’s reality is brought to life as Michael explores the questions, "What does great servant leadership look like in its living?" and “What is its tangible impact on the lives touched?” His discussion will more fully open our eyes to the daily offerings that life gives us to share our servant leadership gifts of love and caring. It will be an exciting journey as we take our servant leadership 'as is' to a more powerful and beautiful 'what can be.'
Michael Reuter is an executive coach, mentor and motivational speaker. He captures his life’s purpose and meaning in six words, "Live passionately, love unconditionally, care deeply." He writes an inspirational weekly blog, Three Minute Leadership, addressing various leadership topics.
The Center for Vocation and Servant Leadership inspires students to become servant leaders.
As Director of the Stillman School’s Gerald P. Buccino '63 Center for Leadership Development, his leadership resulted in the Center being ranked nationally as the #1 Educational Certificate Program with an Emphasis on Leadership and Organizational Development by HR.com for five consecutive years. His leadership work across the University contributed to the establishment of Seton Hall University’s Buccino Leadership Institute in 2018.
