Department of Communication Media and the Arts
Renee Robinson, PhD, is a Professor of Communication in the Department of Communication, Media and the Arts. Robinson currently serves as the Director of Graduate Studies (MA Communication, MS Professional Communication and Digital Media Arts) as well as the Director of Oral Communication Competencies. Previously, Robinson served as the Vice Dean of Faculty Affairs in the newly formed College of Human Development, Culture, and Media and as the Interim Dean of the College of Communication and the Arts, and former Department Chair. Robinson's two areas of expertise consist of Instructional Communication and Organizational Communication. Robinson publishes in the areas of communication instruction and pedagogy, computer mediated and digital communication, and generational communication. Robinson is a curriculum developer and has taught face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses resulting in her creation of over 50 communication courses spanning delivery systems and undergraduate-graduate level coursework. Robinson is a former faculty trainer and developer and has worked in various leadership positions at several other institutions of higher education.
