Paul Fisher, M.P.A.

Chief Information Officer
Department of Information Technology

Paul Fisher serves as Chief Information Officer at Seton Hall University, where he has been a dedicated member of the community since 1997. With nine family members as Seton Hall Pirates and ten degrees earned within the institution, Mr. Fisher regards the University as a profound home away from home. In his leadership role, appointed in January 2024, he serves as a member of the President’s Executive Cabinet where he guides strategic efforts to harness technology in service of the University's core pillars: teaching, learning, research, and faith.

Mr. Fisher views technology not merely as a functional tool, but as a manifestation of human intelligence. Technology functions as a catalyst for transformative experiences that empower students to grow and mature as whole persons, enable faculty to achieve their scholarly and research objectives, and support staff and administration in building a community rooted in solidarity and justice.

Under his direction, Seton Hall advances key initiatives aligned with Priority 5 (Sustainable Resources) of the University's strategic plan, Inspiring Great Minds to Greater Purpose (2025–2030). This priority emphasizes responsible stewardship and strategic innovation to ensure long-term institutional growth and excellence. Central efforts include the modernization of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system through implementation of Banner SaaS, which establishes a foundation for greater operational efficiency and seamless integration across administrative functions.

The broader digital transformation strategy streamlines administrative processes, reduces bureaucratic obstacles, and redirects institutional focus toward academic excellence, scholarly pursuits, and holistic formation grounded in the Catholic tradition.

A notable advancement is the establishment of the Innovation Hub within the Teaching, Learning and Technology Center. This dedicated space equips students and faculty with 21st-century tools—including podcasting studios, 3D printing facilities, virtual and augmented reality environments, and a professional video studio—to integrate emerging technologies into pedagogical practices and creative projects, bridging theory and application.

Looking toward 2030, Mr. Fisher's vision for technology at Seton Hall is anchored in stewardship, mutual collaboration, and the principles of solidarity and the common good. As emerging technologies—particularly artificial intelligence—are adopted, emphasis will remain on transparency, accessibility, and the advancement of the University’s Catholic mission.

Through these efforts, Mr. Fisher aligns advanced technology infrastructure, support services, and digital innovation with Seton Hall's mission, fostering curricular transformation, operational excellence, sustainable growth, and a future where technology drives progress while remaining grounded in faith, equity, ethics, and community.
