PIPE Presents Celtic Harp Performance during Seton Hall Weekend - Seton Hall University

Pirates of Irish Persuasion & Extraction (PIPE), Seton Hall’s student organization celebrating Irish culture, invites you to enjoy an afternoon of ethereal harp music, performed by Odarka Polanskyj Stockert. Part of the lineup of Seton Hall Weekend events, this event, co-sponsored by the Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology and the Slavic Club, promises to provide opportunities for contemplation, music appreciation and cultural enrichment. Students, faculty, staff, administrators and members of the wider community are invited to attend this event on Friday, October 14, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception.

A classically trained yet experimentally inclined harpist, Odarka will share music from her eclectic repertoire, focusing on Irish, Ukrainian, and religious selections. A Ukrainian Folk Artist Expert for the Passaic County Cultural & Heritage Council, Odarka also specializes in the Celtic harp and has placed in the O’Carolan Irish Harp and Granard Harp competitions in Ireland.

Immediately before Odarka’s performance, the “Then and Now” Seton Hall Weekend Campus Tour will be led by Alan Delozier, D. Litt.. Prof. Delozier is a University Archivist & Adjunct Professor of Catholic Studies, as well as an advisor to PIPE. The tour will conclude at the entrance of the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception.

PIPE’s first event of the semester was an Irish language workshop in September, presented by Irish language teacher Regina Femminella. An additional event this fall is planned: An Irish genealogy presentation by Prof. Delozier on November 11.
