Seton Hall Receives Veterans Award from Governor  

Seton Hall has received the New Jersey Governor's We Value Our Veterans Academia Award. In recognition of its "conspicuous support for our armed forces," the award was bestowed upon the University on Veterans Day at the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Holmdel, New Jersey on Nov. 11, 2022. 

The State of New Jersey "We Value Our Veterans" award is given to municipalities, businesses, and academic institutions that meet or exceed certain designated "veteran friendly" criteria. The award is intended to acknowledge organizations that aid and honor those who have served as soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines and coast guardsmen. 

The designation and its insignia for the award are intended for display on the University's website, letterhead, flyers, and banners to denote Seton Hall's veteran-friendly status and to act as both a welcome and a thank you to those who have served. 

Assistant Vice President & Dean of the Center for Academic Success Vaughn Calhoun attended the event and received the award on behalf of Seton Hall. "My father served in Vietnam and retired after 25 years of honorable service as a 1st Sergeant in the U.S. Army," said Calhoun. "I know first-hand the sacrifices members of our military and their families make for this country. It is with great honor that I received this award on behalf of the University, and an even greater honor to make the resources of Seton Hall available to our veterans."

Vice President of Student Services Monica Burnette agreed, "These brave people have steadfastly guarded the doors of democracy. It is only fitting that we do what we can to open for them the doors of the University."

Seton Hall University is a full participant in the Post 9/11 Yellow Ribbon Program. Slots for Yellow Ribbon are unlimited for graduate and undergraduate students, the only requirement is that the student be 100% eligible for Post 911.
