Dr. Mary Ellen Roberts reflects on Charity and Practical Solutions: The Role of Mission and Ministry in a Global Society, in the third of four retreats for faculty and administrators of all faiths.
The Heart of the University Retreat Series gives faculty and administrators of all faiths the opportunity for input and guided reflection. The series is co-sponsored by the Office of Mission and Ministry, and the Center for Vocation and Servant Leadership.
The third retreat, given by Dr. Mary Ellen Roberts on the theme of Charity and Practical Solutions: The Role of Mission and Ministry in a Global Society, will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. via Microsoft Teams.
This retreat will focus on practical solutions for spiritual growth with charity as a central theme. In this time of uncertainty, as we emerge from a global pandemic, how can spirituality and charity help us develop a stronger and more caring culture? Practical solutions help to encourage students, faculty and administrators to live the mission of the University in a global society. We will explore how the spiritual virtues of humility, courage, and compassion, as expressions of redemptive and transcendent love, can empower us to develop the keys to success in caring for our society.
Mary Ellen Roberts, D.N.P., F.A.A.N., is an Associate Professor and Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Programs in the College of Nursing. She is a GEM Fellow and a participant in the Praxis Program.
