Continuing Education and Professional Studies
As Vice Dean for Continuing Education and Professional Studies, Dean Halpin is tasked with providing leadership in matters relating to course development, curriculum, operations, partnerships, program development and marketing and outreach. These responsibilities include maintaining innovative and impactful programs and courses that align with CEPS and Seton Hall’s mission; liaising with partners at Seton Hall to develop new academic programs and courses that address market needs; co-supervising Summer and Winter Sessions as well as Part-time Study programs including pre-college, online, and international offerings; overseeing course registration, approvals, and evaluations; supervising program staff/instructors and provide coaching; building brand awareness and external reputation through marketing and partner development; developing and overseeing academic policies and activities; supervising operations including recruitment, payments and reporting; developing guidelines for internal and external partners; maintaining communications with current and prospective students; partnering to launch comprehensive executive education initiatives with external partners; and representing CEPS internally and externally.
As Undergraduate Director for years three and four of the Buccino Leadership Institute program, Dean Halpin is responsible for supporting development and implementation of the strategic vision of the Buccino Leadership Institute. This includes supporting the recruitment and admissions process; overseeing the standards of retention; defining the stages of development and specific leadership attributes, characteristics, or benchmarks that undergraduate students will master during the four-year program, along with their metrics of success; developing programmatic activities and experiences including speakers, field trips, and other events; assessing student attainment of leadership attributes, characteristics or benchmarks; reporting; participating in rankings of leadership programs, regionally, nationally, and world-wide; participating in the work with the Leadership Advisory Council; developing a vibrant continuing education program; developing marketing and promotional materials and implementing marketing campaigns; engaging in fundraising and other development opportunities; ensuring consistent quality experiences for all students; continuing the use of instruments to assess student benchmarks and coaching students toward further development; advancing the thought leadership of the Institute; building external partnerships to bring opportunities and/or sources of revenue to support the Institute.
During her 20 years at Seton Hall, Dean Halpin has served as Acting Director of the Buccino Leadership Institute, Associate Dean of the School of Diplomacy and International Relations, Associate Director of the School of Diplomacy’s Leadership Center, and in several other roles in the School of Diplomacy and University Advancement.
Dean Halpin serves as faculty advisor to the Women of Diplomacy Leadership Program, Girl Up and the Voice of Leadership. She has served on various University committees including DEI, Middle States Accreditation, Study Abroad, Commencement, and Charter Day.
