U.S. News Again Ranks Seton Hall’s Graduate Programs Among Top in Nation

Seton Hall’s graduate programs were again ranked among the top programs in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.

The School of Law, the Stillman School of Business M.B.A. program, the Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) program, Nonprofit Management and the School of Health and Medical Sciences’ Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy programs are all placed in the top third in the nation. The Speech-Language Pathology program placed in the Top 35 percent. Earlier this year, Seton Hall’s graduate Nursing programs were ranked by U.S. News among the Top 17 percent in the nation.

The significant investments made by Seton Hall in its world-class faculty, and in research, facilities and students are yielding widespread benefits, which are evident through any number of recent rankings, accolades, grants and awards bestowed upon the University, its faculty and its students. In addition, an independent study by Georgetown University's Center on Education and the Workforce places Seton Hall in the top 10 percent of universities nationwide regarding student return on investment.

Law: Top 31 Percent, Top 12 Part-Time, Top 10 Health Law, Top 6 Catholic
Seton Hall University School of Law placed at 61 in the nation in the 2025 U.S. News & World Report rankings. The Law School’s Part-Time program was ranked #12 in the nation and the Health Law program at #10. The overall U.S. News ranking places Seton Hall as the best in New Jersey and within the Top 10 Catholic Law Schools in the United States, tied at #6.

The ranking of 61 out of the 196 ABA-Accredited law schools chosen for selection by U.S. News puts Seton Hall firmly within the Top Third of law schools in the nation, with the Law School ranking in the top 31 percent. This year’s ranking was slightly off last year’s record performance of 56, which was the Law School’s all-time high amidst a rise of 17 places and methodology changes (greater importance on student outcomes, such as passing the bar and getting a job that makes use of a law degree) that favor Seton Hall.

According to U.S. News (which uses ABA report numbers), Seton Hall Law graduates had an Employment Rate 10 Months After Graduation that places Seton Hall at #50 in the nation for that metric.

According to U.S. News (ABA report numbers), the Bar Passage, First-Time Takers rate for Seton Hall Law was more than 14 points above the state average at 85.76 percent – which places Seton Hall at #32 among all law schools in the nation for that important metric.

Stillman MBA: Top 27 Percent in the U.S.
U.S. News & World Report's 2025 Best Graduate Schools has ranked the Stillman School of Business part-time M.B.A. program 73rd in the nation, up 11 since last year, which places the program in the top 27 percent in the nation.

The Stillman School is ranked among the select M.B.A. programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) — the highest standard of achievement for business schools and earned by only 5 percent of schools worldwide granting business degrees at the bachelor's level or higher. Only 194 of these select schools maintain supplemental accreditation in accounting, with the Stillman School of Business among them.

The M.B.A. program was also nationally recognized as a 2023-2024 "Best Business School" by The Princeton Review for the 17th consecutive year. Additionally, earlier this year, the School was named among the "Best Undergraduate Business Schools" by Poets&Quants and placed again among the Top 50 as well as best in New Jersey for Alumni Experience. Among Catholic universities, Seton Hall was placed in the top 10 (#8). A recent report from Georgetown University found that graduates of Seton Hall’s master's accounting programs have the fifth highest return on investment (ROI) among all accounting programs in the U.S., ranking Seton Hall’s graduate accounting programs #1 in New Jersey.

School of Health and Medical Sciences
Programs in Seton Hall’s School of Health and Medical Sciences (SHMS) rose in the latest edition of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Graduate School rankings – highlighting the institution’s national leadership in health profession education. Occupational Therapy led the way with a ranking of 53, followed by Physical Therapy at 74 and Speech-Language Pathology at 91.

Occupational Therapy: Top 27 Percent in U.S.
Seton Hall’s Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) program rose 26 places to achieve its ranking of 53rd in the nation — and maintained its position as the highest-ranking, fully accredited MSOT program in New Jersey. According to U.S. News, its survey ranked the top 198 doctoral and master's degree programs in occupational therapy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education. Seton Hall’s position at 53 places it among the top 27 percent of all programs in the United States.

Physical Therapy: Top 31 Percent in U.S.
Seton Hall’s Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program likewise rose in the U.S. News rankings this year, reaching 74 from its prior ranking of 83 — a rise of 9 places among the 239 doctoral programs in physical therapy accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education. The ranking of 83 positions Seton Hall among the Top Third of all DPT programs in the nation.

Speech-Language Pathology: Top 35 Percent in U.S.
Seton Hall’s Master of Speech-Language Pathology (MSSLP) program continues to be top ranked  in the state, moving up one spot this year to 91 out of 261 master's programs in speech-language pathology accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. The ranking places the program in the top 35 percent in the United States.

Social Work: Top 30 Percent in the U.S.
The Master of Social Work program rose 21 places to #95 in this year’s U.S. News graduate school rankings, placing it in the Top 100 and among the top 30 percent of all M.S.W. programs in the nation.

Nonprofit Management: Top 15 Percent in the U.S.
The Nonprofit Management Program at Seton Hall was again ranked among the best in the nation, rising from #27 to #24. There are 160 nonprofit management programs in the United States, with the U.S. News ranking placing Seton Hall’s program in the Top 15 percent in the nation.

Nursing: Top 17 Percent in the U.S.
Seton Hall’s Graduate Nursing programs were ranked by U.S. News among the top programs in America in February 2024 as part of the online rankings. Seton Hall ranked 32nd in the nation, placing it in the top 17 percent of all programs in the nation, 4th among all Catholic colleges and universities and makes it, again, the top-ranked program in New Jersey.

Additionally, the College of Arts and Sciences’ Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) program, which offers concentrations in nonprofit management, was nationally ranked 118th overall and 27th for nonprofit management.
